Stoneware plate thrown on the wheel and turned by hand.
A paper resist is placed onto the still wet plate and white slip is painted all over. Cobalt speckles are then sponged over the slip and the paper transfer is peeled away.
Fired once to 1000 degrees celsius when dry, then decorated by hand using a ceramic pencil, signed, waxed, and dipped into a transparent glossy glaze. Once the glaze has dried the piece is ready for its final 1230 degree firing.
