Stoneware decoration made by hand from a slab of speckled stoneware clay. Cut from a hand rolled slab, smoothed, finished and allowed to dry slowly under wooden boards for a couple of weeks to prevent warping.
Fired once to 1000 degrees celsius then stamped, waxed, and dipped into a glossy transparent glaze. Decorated by hand using various oxides and the piece is then ready for its 1240 degree glaze firing. Once fired, the piece is then decorated using gold lustre and fired for a third and final time.
Finished with a dark blue satin ribbon and a gold foiled keepsake box.
