Stoneware decoration made by hand from a slab of white stoneware clay. Cut from a hand rolled slab, smoothed, finished and allowed to dry slowly under wooden boards for a couple of weeks to prevent warping.
Fired once to 1000 degrees celsius then stamped, waxed, and dipped into a glossy transparent glaze, the piece is then ready for its 1240 degree glaze firing. Once fired, the piece is then decorated using ceramic transfers and fired for a third and final time.
Finished with a burgundy red satin ribbon and a gold foiled keepsake box.
Approximate measurements: 8cm wide x 7.5cm tall
This item is a slight second due to a small crack near the top of the piece (see photos). This is purely cosmetic, does not affect the usability of the piece and is sealed under the glaze.
