Diamond tile made by hand from a slab of mixed reclaimed stoneware clays. Rolled out by hand and cut into its diamond shape once leather hard, the tile is then coated with white slip which is also allowed to dry for a few days before being decorated using sgraffito. Allowed to dry slowly for a week or two under boards to prevent warping in the final stages, then bisque fired. The tile is then coated in a transparent glaze and placed back in the kiln for one final 1230 degree centigrade firing.
